I’m living uneventful days but I’d like to keep the journal, even though it is very short. Actually I’m working now, so I might be able to write about that. But I don’t want to do that because most part of the work is boring for me. It makes me a little depressed. Though he rest is a bit interesting, I don’t feel like mentioning, either.
Anyway, today was a day off and I’ve been to the Sagae spa in the morning. Today was a special day for the spa, so it takes only 100 yen to get in. Usually that costs 300 yen. Then I ate sushi for lunch at sushi restaurant. It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten sushi last.
I have been carring a film camera recently. I don’t take so many pictures, though. I take like 3 or 4 a week. I took zero today so I couldn’t show any picture here.

I am usually wearing glasses because of my poor eyesight. But also I have my own contact lenses which are one day disposable. I have been to the oculist and had the check-up about two month ago. Then I have bought the new contact lenses.
But actually, I don’t use those often, in fact I put them once a week or two weeks. That makes me feel a small change of mood. But I don’t feel like putting contact lenses every day.
By the way, these are the mummified contact lenses.
After I have taken out them from my eyes, I keep them for a while. They got dry, hard and fragile. They are beautiful, I think. But look the surface carefully, they are a bit dirty. That might be the dirt of my eyes.

The Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival has been held from 4th to 11th. At the first harf of the festival, I couldn’t see any films because of my work. But I could manage to take days off on 8, 9 and 10th. I’ve already bought a book of ten tickets in avance, and I saw ten films for three days.
Genarally, documentary film isn’t a spectacle, and it would be even boring to see documentary film. But to see documentary film surely demands some literacies. So I enjoyed to see the films but couldn’t catch on some of them. I had a nap during the screening, though just two times.
Anyway, I took pleasure in this three days beyond my indifferent dairy life. The festival seems to be successful on the whole.

Sounds of firework, that is a seasonal thing in Japan, reverberated around here. There was a firework display yesterday near my house. But I couldn’t see it through the window in my room. I could hear only its sounds. Well, I’ve not seen fireworks this summer yet. So I left my room to see the display of firework. It was a bit too far to get there by walk or bicycle. I drove there. Actually, I went by car last year just the same.
This summer, there were more peole than last year. The road was really crowded. And many people were sitting along the sidewalk and watching fireworks. Cars had to move little by little by the heavy traffic. But, it was a bit convenient because I could afford to look up the fireworks into the sky from the driver’s seat.
I went around the city and backed to home. I didn’t get out of the car.

In this Tohoku district, the real summer doesn’t seem to be here. Today we got a sudden rain and were having still high humidity. Such terribly uncomfortable season, though, lately I’ve been trying to read books written in English as well as Japanese. For the purpoes of getting used to it, as a small effort. I’m reading Harry Potter, which is in my reding level. But I’ve not been able to keep the condition to read and to do other things I really want to do. I need to manage my time well, I think.
Today, I got a postcard from a friend in Hong Kong. I think, I will reply with a postcard, too. But how much stamps do I need for sending it to abroad? Let’s check it…ah, it costs 70 yen for a postcard.

Today is a really nice, but a bit too hot day. The rainy season may be over, and the summer has begun in earnest.
So, I have this paper stuff at hand now. I don’t know what is this actually, but I think, this a kind of craft paper to decorate greeting cards or something like that. The figures of ladybug are printed on and clipped out of a thick paper. Probably I can cut these ladybugs separately and past it on a greeting card.
I bought it perhaps at a craft shop in Stockholm, Sweden, though it was a product of Denmark.
Today when I was idly looking at the package of it without intention, I noticed the mark at the upper right. The mark is also a ladybug. It was similar to a mark I’d seen before, I thought.
I thought about it a few seconds, and I recalled. It is TENTOMUSI COMICS! I used to read TENTOMUSI COMICS such as Doraemon, again and again, and each time, I ought to see the mark of ladybug.
It may be nothing but coincidence. However it’s pleasant for me to find this kind of coincidence.

To keep writing is tough for me, regardless of langage. It’s been more than ten days since I wrote here last. Or, only ten days or so might be better, I think, because I’m skipping making items on my japanese blog, for about one month or more.
Anyway, today there was a big earthquake in Niigata and Nagano area, and the strong shake came to Yamagata area also. When it occured in this morning, around 10 o’clock, I was on a bed and reading something, and very surprised. Then, TV news showed that the earthquke caused extensive damage to Niigata. A number of houses collapsed and some people died in the accident.
Yesterday, we got hit by typhoon. Disaster is terrible, that’s true. So people say like this; we don’t know when disaster strikes, we should prepare against it. Truthfully, however, we scarcely prepare to make the surst measures until we ourselves get hit a severe disaster, I suppose.

A plan to visit Sakata would be abandoned, almost certainly. I have no choice but to do so. According to the weather forecast, it’s going to have been rainy or cloudy for a week.
I intended to go to a garden, famous for hydrangea, seasonable flower. Adding that, I supposed it would be a good occasion to have a ride on my bike that I have kept silent for ages. But unfortunately rainy weather forces me to call off these plans. It’s pity, but maybe next time.
So I’m almost going to stay home this week, and maybe read books or something. I’ve just started to read A Wild Sheep Chase by Haruki Murakami.

The first holiday in July, the weather was not so bad, the blue sky was covered with thick clouds half and half, but mostly the sunshine was pouring.
I’ve been to a flower park yet again. But the park I visited today is different from where I’d been to and reported to this diary before. Surprisingly, there’re many such parks and gardens in the rural area. They are planted great number of flowers, and when it comes to the season the flowers bloom, people come there for a delight.
People never hate flower. Of course me neither though, to be honest, sometimes I feel disgusting about that. Because, those parks are dressed brightly and cheerfully, producing a peaceful atmosphere.
It seems to have gone too far, and frankly speaking, it looks just factitious, when I take a pessimistic view.
I’m writing like this, however, I am practically interested in such parks, including such artificial peacefulness. And I like that. That’s why I often go such places. If the weather is fine, I will go to Sakata to see another flower park in this week.

I go for a stroll when I get tired of reading books or doing tasks. It’s really clear hot day today, as soon as I’ve started to walk outside, I got sweats. I strolled through the residential area, then I headed the heights, with an ipod. There’s a shrine on the heights, but I didn’t anything like pray, I just passed by, walking and walking. In a weed grown place, lots of mosquitoes was gathering around me, and of course I couldn’t avoid all of them. I’ve been bitten on my neck, ears, hand and so on. It was the first time in this summer, to be bitten certainly by mosquitoes. Though I was not glad or it was not thoughtful in peculiarly.
